Paula Palacios, Series Host, Filmmaker

Paula Palacios is an award winning Spanish filmmaker based in Madrid and Paris, has directed over 25 documentaries with a special focus on women’s rights and refugees. Paula's first documentary Women Without a Pause (2010) was aired by 30 broadcasters around the world. New Walls (2012) explored the destiny of migrant women in Eastern Europe. Two short films about refugee mothers, Zara’s Letter and Promises Halimo Can’t Keep, were produced for Aljazeera Documentary Channel. In 2018 Paula travelled to Libya making a shocking documentary about the destiny of migrants being intercepted in Central Mediterranean for ARTE Channel. Currently Paula is preparing two feature documentaries: Cartas Mojadas (Drowned Letters) following a rescue mission in the Mediterranean Sea by a Spanish NGO, and the personal film My Brother Ali, following a Somali migrant for the past 7 years, from Ukraine all the way to Michigan (USA).
